Research Intern/Office of the President

In this position, the intern will work directly with the President of Thirteen/WNET, Mr. Neal Shapiro. It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in learning the television industry from a seasoned professional. Mr. Shapiro has 25 years in television service and comes to Thirteen/WNET from NBC, where he was the President of NBC News.

Mr. Shapiro is seeking to implement new and innovative programs here at Thirteen/WNET and the Intern will support him in this effort. Reporting directly to Mr. Shapiro and his Executive Assistant, the intern will divide his or her time between researching programming ideas and providing administrative support to the Office of the President, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, filing and drafting correspondence. The intern selected will be expected to provide assistance to the President and his Executive Assistant on other projects as assigned.

Applicants must have keen internet research abilities, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Applicants must be able to commit to at least 2-3 days per week. Specific hours will be discussed during the interview.
